Who Keeps Calling My Cell Phone?

Do you ever get strange messages on your cell phone? Maybe its just a screeching sound of a fax machine trying to send data to another fax…but its connecting to your cell phone by mistake??

Getting calls like that can drive you crazy! Not only is it an inconvenience, but it can be expensive too. It wastes your cell phone minutes and drains your battery.

If this has happened to you, make sure you read this great article by a woman who went through the same thing. She was smart though, because she used a reverse fax number lookup to find out who it was and put an end to it!

Embassy Suites Review Site

Before the economy started to tank and expense budgets were cut, I got to do a little bit of traveling for work. I got to see Dallas, Boston, New Hampshire, and Louisville, Kentucky.

Animal Friendly Cosmetics

My wife and I recently met up with some friends of ours for dinner and we had an interesting discussion about products that use animals for testing.  Our friend Allison volunteers at an animal shelter in New Jersey and she hears so many horror stories about pets being mistreated by cruel owners.

But even more disturbing is the way animals are mistreated by companies who are only interested in making a buck.  One of the prime offenders is the cosmetic industry which tests all sorts of products on animals.  Thousands of innocent animals are killed or maimed every year in the name of beauty.

Credit Card Reward Programs

Credit card reward programs that offer cash rebates,
gift cards, or free or discounted merchandise are
becoming increasingly popular. Competition among
credit card companies is fierce and each is continuously
looking to get an edge on their competitors.

Besides offering better interest rates and eliminating
annual fees, credit card companies make their cards more
enticing by offering a reward program. The details and
rewards for each plan will vary from one card to the next,
but they all work in a similar fashion.

For every dollar you charge to your rewards card you
receive one or more points. Once you have gathered a
certain number of points you can redeem them for merchandise
or cash. The merchandise available will vary from one
card to the next but they usually include a range of
electronics, personal appliances, and sporting goods.
Most programs also offer gift certificates so you can pick
out exactly what you’d like.

Comparing Credit Card Rewards Programs

Before applying for a card with a rewards program, you
should think about which type of program would best fit
your needs, or even if a rewards card is your best option.

Cards that have rewards programs generally charge annual
fees, while many standard cards do not. Also, the interest
rate on most rewards cards is at least a few percentage
points higher than other cards. If you are the type of
person who pays his bill in full each month and rarely
carries a balance, a rewards card would serve you well.
You can earn many points while keeping finance charges
and fees to a minimum.

On the other hand if you usually carry a balance, you may
be better off choosing a standard card with a lower interest
rate and no annual fee. The finance charges on your balance
will lessen the value of your reward, and you may even find
that you could have bought your reward yourself for less
than you paid in fees.

Another factor to consider is the points themselves. Do they
expire? If so you’ll need to charge enough each month to
ensure you get your reward before you lose them.

How many points do you get for each dollar spent? The most
common answer is one point, but some cards offer more than
one point when you shop at preferred merchants. For example,
you may earn one point for each dollar spent at most stores,
but five points when you fill your tank at a participating
gas station. If you regularly use merchants that belong to
the program you can accululate points much faster.

Some cards will actually give you cash back. In this case
you should look for the card that combines the lowest interest
rate on purchases but the highest cash back rate. Most cards
offer about one or two percent, though you can sometimes find
one offering as much as 5% back.

So for each $1,000 you spend you will receive $10-$50 back.
It’s not huge, but it helps.

Again, the key to using credit cards with reward programs is
calculating how much you actually save by using them and if
you would be better off using a standard card without rewards.

Stumbled on a really cool that lets you trace cell phone numbers free. Of course it works for regular home and business numbers (and even unlisted numbers).

Just enter a phone number and click the search button to receive basic details for free. If you want the full phone report you have to upgrade and pay a small fee. But for a on-time fee you can trace as many numbers as you want.

Keeping Baby Safe From Germs

You should. Shopping carts are touched by thousands of hands, and who knows how clean those people are. Do you really want your baby getting sick because some slob didn’t wash his hands? Its disgusting.

Who In The World Is Leonardo Fibonacci?

Have you ever heard of Leonardo Fibonacci?

No, he didn’t paint the Mona Lisa. And he’s not
the guy behind the counter at Vinnie’s Pizza.

Fibonacci was a well-known Italian mathematician
who lived from around 1175-1250. He made great
contributions to the world of mathematics,
including introducing the decimal system to
Europe.

He also studied a sequence of numbers that has
since become known as the Fibonacci Numbers, or
the Fibonacci Sequence.

The Fibonacci Sequence start with a 0 and a 1, and
each new number is the sum of the two previous
numbers (0 + 1 = 2, 1 + 2 = 3, 3 + 2 = 5).
The first numbers in the sequence are as follows:

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144…and
so forth into infinity.

Fibonacci found that these series of numbers and their
ratios to one another were prevalent throughout nature
and can in fact be seen all around you.

Ok, ok, so what does this have to do with forex trading?

Well, quite a bit in fact. You see the ratios that are
found in the Fibonacci numbers can be seen in the price
movement of currencies (as well as stocks and other
investments).

Without boring you any further, I’ll give you the big 3
numbers that you should remember: 0.382, 0.500, and 0.618.
There are others, but these are the most significant.

These numbers are used to calculate “retracement levels”,
which are used by many traders to determine when to place
buy and sell orders. Here’s how it works:

Assume the price of a currency pair (or a company’s stock
for that matter) is trending upward. History shows us that
prices tend to hit a peak, go into a temporary reversal,
and then resume the trend. The reversal is where Fibonacci
numbers come in.

The price of a currency that is trending can be expected to
reverse back to one of the Fibonacci numbers and then bounce
back to continue the trend. If you forecast this correctly
you can buy in just before the upward trend continues and
score big profits.

The online trading platform you use should be able to chart the
Fibonacci numbers for you. You just draw a line from a low point
to a high point, and the retracement levels are automatically
mapped on the chart for you.

Of course, its not quite as simple as trading when the price hits
a Fibonacci number. There are other things to consider:

You don’t know which retracement level the price will stop at. If
you choose .382 and it drops to .618 you could lose a ton of pips.

Similarly, if you choose the wrong low/high points, the retracement
levels will be all out of whack.

And quite frankly, as accurate as they can be at times, sometimes
Fibonacci numbers just don’t work at all. There are many variables
at play in the forex market. You can’t rely solely on one method
to predict price movement.

Surviving A Job Interview

Found a great article on Yahoo about surviving a job interview.  You can read the full article here, but I’ll give you the main suggestions they offer:

1. Don’t try to outwit or outguess the interviewer.  Not every question is a trick and he’s not out to get you.

2. Read the job description.  It’ll give you clues as to what kinds of questions you’ll be asked. 

3. Have reasons for everything you’ve done.  They want detailed answers that help them figure out what makes you tick.

4. Ask questions.  Show that you’re interested in the position and in the company itself.
